Terms of Service

Last updated: July 5, 2026

These terms cover your use of barbexus.com and any website design work you hire Barbexus to perform. They are written to be read, not to hide things. If anything here is unclear, ask before we start: contact@barbexus.com.

1. Who We Are

Barbexus is an independent web design studio operated by its founder, Conrad. "You" means the visitor or client engaging with the site or the services.

2. The Service

Our core offer is website development at a flat rate of $500. It includes design, copywriting, development, mobile testing, local SEO foundations, and launch, as described on the main page. The exact scope for your project is confirmed in writing before work begins, and that written scope controls if it differs from marketing copy.

3. Payment

  • The flat rate is due as agreed in your project scope, typically half at kickoff and half at launch, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • No work goes live until the balance is settled.
  • Third-party costs such as domain registration and hosting are paid by you directly on your own accounts. They are typically small, and we tell you the expected amounts before you commit.

4. Revisions and Scope

  • Two rounds of revisions are included during the build.
  • Small fixes are included at no charge for thirty days after launch.
  • New pages, redesigns, or features beyond the agreed scope are quoted separately before any work happens. No surprise invoices.

5. Your Materials

You confirm that any content you provide, such as photos, logos, and text, is yours to use. You are responsible for the accuracy of business information on your site, such as licensing claims, pricing, and service areas.

6. Ownership

When the project is paid in full and launched, you own the deliverables: the site files, the content written for you, the domain, and the accounts created in your name. We may display the finished work in our portfolio and reference you as a client unless you ask us not to.

7. Timelines

Most projects launch within one to two weeks of kickoff. Timelines depend on prompt feedback; delays in providing materials or approvals extend the schedule accordingly.

8. What We Don't Promise

We build sites designed to perform, but we cannot guarantee specific business outcomes, search rankings, or lead volumes. Anyone who guarantees you a Google ranking is lying to you.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Barbexus's total liability for any claim arising from the services or this site is limited to the amount you paid us for the project in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for outages and issues caused by third-party providers such as hosts, registrars, or scheduling tools.

10. Termination

Either party may end a project in writing. If you cancel mid-build, payment is due for work completed to that point; anything already paid beyond completed work is refunded. Completed and launched work is not refundable.

11. Site Use

Don't misuse this website: no scraping at abusive volume, no attempting to breach it, no using its content to impersonate Barbexus.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in California, and both parties will attempt good-faith resolution before filing anything.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here with the latest date applies. Existing signed project agreements keep their original terms.
